Who we are
Shannon & LaDonna West have been married since 2008 and involved in prison ministry since 2015. They have a passion and a love for those who are, or who have been incarcerated and for those struggling with addictions. Shannon battled his own addictive lifestyle for over 15 years in which he was sentenced to prison twice. During his 2nd incarceration, he surrendered his life to follow Jesus Christ and he is now celebrating over 17 years clean and sober. Since beginning on their journey inside the walls, they have been blessed to lead thousands of men and women to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and helped them to begin their own journey to living a life in and on purpose.
Next Chapter Ministry is committed to sharing the transformative message of the Gospel with individuals who are incarcerated, offering hope and a future in God’s redemptive power. Our ministry focuses on instilling faith and resilience to those behind bars, helping them to envision a new chapter in their lives through Christ's love and redemption.
Recognizing that addiction often affects entire families, we also provide spiritual counseling and support to the loved ones of those struggling with substance use. Our goal is to equip families with the tools they need to navigate the challenges of addiction, fostering healing and wholeness within the family unit.
As individuals prepare for reentry into society, Next Chapter Ministry helps connect individuals with local churches and community resources, ensuring they have a supportive network upon their release. Encouraging and mentoring when possible, offering guidance, and accountability as individuals transition into their new lives.
At Next Chapter Ministry, we believe in the power of hope, healing, and community, and we are dedicated to walking alongside individuals and families as they embark on their journeys of transformation and renewal.
We invite you to join us as we help impact THE NEXT CHAPTER of these precious souls God has called to do great things!
“Don’t get stuck on a page when the Next Chapter is waiting to unfold.”
